BLACK ADAM & SUPERMAN

If you didn’t know, I’m a HUGE Superman fan. I love the “Man of Steel” and everything he represents. Although there are many variations of the boy scout, my two favorite to ever portray him are Tom Welling (Smallville) and Henry Cavill. Tonight, I am going to discuss Henry’s future as Superman and all the rumors surrounding The Rock’s Black Adam movie.

First, let’s talk about Warner Brothers/DC and their plan for the future of the DCEU. With the changes in leadership at WB, the studio has recently said that they want all their projects to be connected. Whether it’s a television series or a movie, the entire universe will be connected. That’s a good start. They also talked about the “trinity” of the DC universe. The trinity consists of DC Comics biggest heroes: Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. So far, it appears as though WB is going to keep Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Ben Affleck as Batman, which is fine with me. However, when it comes to Superman the studio appears to have no clue who is going to play him. *The Rock has entered the chat**

I’m sure you all know that The Rock’s movie, Black Adam, will be out in a couple weeks, and that he has been teasing the return of Superman like crazy. I highly doubt he would tease Henry’s return as Superman this much, only to let all the fans down. I don’t think he would do that. Let’s keep in mind, him and Henry are pretty good friends, and it’s been reported that The Rock went all-out to bring his friend back as the man of steel.

Let’s take a look at some of the things The Rock has said lately. Per his Instagram video, the rock was speaking about the “third act” and how Black Adam is the most unstoppable force on “this planet”. He doubled down on his emphasis again when he said “THIS planet”, which leaves us fans to speculate Superman’s return. Another source, comicbook.com, quotes the rock speaking about a possible Black Adam vs Superman fight and/or movie: “I think Black Adam lands the first punch. Now, I don’t know if Black Adam lands the last punch,”  Johnson said. The article continues: Asked if he can visualize Black Adam versus Superman on the big screen, Johnson said, “I can see things so clearly on how that scene looks like, what that scene looks like, what the film looks like, what the next three films look like. Now, whether or not that comes to fruition, that always helps when you have that kind of clarity.”

Like I said, I don’t think he would tease Henry Cavill’s return as Superman so much if Henry wasn’t returning as Superman. Now its a Black Adam movie, so I won’t be surprised if Henry returns only for a post credit scene. I’d be okay with that because there are other reports that say The Rock has also convinced WB to sign Henry for another Superman movie! This would be fantastic news. If all of this is true, The Rock should become the Kevin Feige of DC lol For real. He is a fan, he LOVES Superman and I think he could create some great things with WB if they let him have some control. However, let’s just wait and see how Black Adam does overall. I’m just really hyped right now, and I know I’ll be so upset if Henry doesn’t appear in Black Adam, just like all the other fans.

The future looks bright for DC. Let’s hope Warner Brothers doesn’t screw it all up. I already got my tickets to go see Black Adam opening weekend, so you already know you will be hearing from me after I see it! *EARLY SPOILER WARNING**
