Where Did The Region Life Go?

It’s a question I’ve heard many times over the last couple of years. “Whatever happened to your website? I really enjoyed it” or “Your blog still up?”. Those are the two most common questions I get from people that I didn’t think read my blog at all (but I really appreciate that you do/did!). So, let me explain…

I was pretty young when I started this thing and I didn’t understand that I didn’t have to pump out interview after interview. I was 24/25 years old (I think) and I put immense pressure on myself to put out great content and I wanted to do it quickly. Then when covid hit, everyone that told me they would like to be interviewed either stopped responding or I just never heard from them again, which is understandable given the circumstances. You know, a global pandemic and all that stuff. So I hold no grudge against them AT ALL. (sidebar: If any of you want to do an interview now, just let me know. I am always up for it!). Anyways, my point is the timing of covid really threw off the blog. However, I am a little bit older now and I understand I can take my time with this blog, at my own pace. I also understand that my posts don’t always have to be interviews! So get ready for some blog posts about things I am interested in or whatever I am doing in my life at the moment.

Another thing that got in the way-LIFE. Life got in the way big time. Things really started to heat up in my personal life and professional life. At home, Lea and I decided to sell our condo in Highland, move in with my parents for 6-8 months, and build a home in Cedar Lake. It was really such a blessing that my parents let us move in with them, because it wasn’t only us…it was our two cats as well! So thank you to my mom and dad for letting us live with you. Words can’t express how much Lea, Kitkat (Rest In Peace 😦 ), Baby Ruth, and I appreciate it. Also, for those that do not know, my dad passed away earlier this year (2022). So like I said, living there was a huge blessing because we got all that extra time with him. Another thing in my personal life that has taken up a lot of time is starting a family. I am very excited to inform you all that Lea and I have started the adoption process and have been working with an agency for a while now. It’s so exciting!

At work, things really started moving quickly. As the work-load was picking up, I was given more and more responsibility. It really started taking up my time, energy, and focus. I’m not complaining! It is also a huge blessing and I really enjoy it. I can’t go into too much detail about what I do, but just trust me, it takes up a lot of my time throughout the week.

So, here are [most of] the reasons for The Region Life blackout online. For those that really love the site, I apologize for disappearing. For those that don’t really care, or don’t read it, I hope I can change your mind and get you to follow along.

Until next time,

Peter
